Consequences
God has moments of anger, like as do we. However, some havemisconceptions about His response. There's an unspoken law ofconsequences between the forces of good and evil, a result ofbeing born into a sinful world. In observing my daughter, as a very young child, whenevershe was disobedient ą if I didn't discipline, she'd suddenlybecome injured or some other mishap. It was as if God waspunishing her, or so I thought.Once God gave me an example of how it really is.Imagine yourself standing between the sidewalk and curb.Your hands are tied behind your back, with your arms wrappedaround a tree. A car is coming and your child runs into thestreet. You've no physical means of reaching that child.Hearing the speeding car, first thoughts come faster thanyou can verbalize, "No! The car will hurt you!"You scream a plea, with anything you think might cause thatchild to change their direction, before itĘs too late. That ishow it is with God. Were it any other way, He'd have to takeaway our freedom of choice. There are consequences for running out into the street! And, the parent is way beyond distraught even before the accidentoccurs, because they have a glimpse into the future.Imagine how God must, sometimes, feel watching His childrenrun the wrong direction. When the consequences come and wedidn't heed God's warning, God didnĘt do it to us.Think about it. If our parents wouldnĘt smack us with amoving vehicle because we didnĘt obey, if you wouldnĘt run overyour child as punishment for not listening ą we were made in theimage of God and He loves us so much more. The truth is, whenconsequences come, there is no one else to blame. We would havedone it to ourselves.® by Joyce C. Let My People Go
Let My People Go ~If you have ever been judged by someone who looked at outwardappearances, without first having made effort to see your heart, you are not alone. The scribes and Pharisees sat in Moses' seat, while he tookthe wrap (Mt. 32:2). There was no Christ in their message, forif righteousness could be obtained by following the law, thenChrist died in vain (Ga. 2:21).One day, Moses called the Lord "the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" (Lu. 20:3) and God called him to the bush over it.God's response included something like this, "I don't think so.I am not dead!" (Mk. 12:27). Thus, Moses became a quick study inserving the living God (Ex. 3:4). We can also know this becauseMoses was like Jesus (Ac.3:20-22) and both Moses and Jesusreceived their instruction directly from God (Ex. 33:11, Jn.6:69)."Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain;for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name invain," (Ex. 20:7). "Except the Lord build the house, they laborin vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, thewatchman waketh but in vain," (Ps. 127:1).Moses, having learned the spiritual application of the law(Ro. 7:14, I Co. 2:13, I Ti. 1:8), became faithful in all hishouse; having stepped down from being 'in charge' to become God'sservant (Lu. 16:13, He. 3:5). No doubt, Moses looks forward tohearing, "Well done.""Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed withcorruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vainconversation received by tradition from your fathers; But withthe precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish andwithout spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundationof the world ... who by him do believe in God, that raised him upfrom the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope mightbe in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying thetruth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, seethat ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being bornagain, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the wordof God, which liveth and abideth for ever," (I Pe. 1:18-23).The message of Moses is still the same, today."Let my people go, so they may serve God."® by Joyce C. False Prophets
False Prophets ~Being warned of false prophets, little is taught about what afalse prophet is. The Bible does not support prophets competingto unveil scripture in hopes of reward. The last time I checked, prophets heard directly from God; whether by dreams, visions, orGod's voice; leaving no guess work in their message.A professed prophet said, "I believe the white horse could bea flying saucer." God says the white horse's rider is calledFaithful and True (Re. 19:11). Do you really think he would bedriving a flying saucer? The black horse must mean something really evil, right?Scripture says the horses represent the four spirits of theheavens (Ze. 6:5).A heifer can answer the riddle. Can an animal do that? What is sweeter than honey? and what is stronger thana lion? And he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with myheifer, ye had not found out my riddle. Judges 14:18Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in theirlives, and in their death they were not divided: they wereswifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions. 2 Samuel1:23How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeterthan honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103One announced, "We have finally figured it out! Thetwinkling of an eye is 15,000 millimeters of a second." Did thatmake your eye twinkle? It didn't mine either. What if Jesus were to say, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard... the things God has prepared for them that love Him. Come, see the mansion prepared for you." Notice a twinkle?God said He would take the wise in their own craft. If itwere possible, they could deceive the very elect. It just doesnot hold up with scripture. They sought to know about God instead of knowing Him (IICo.2:13-14, II Ti.2:15).The call of a prophet is to be on the front line of spiritualbattlefields, protecting God's children, Je. 23:22, He. 11:28.® by Joyce C. Lock"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whetherthey are of God: because many false prophets are gone out intothe world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of theworld, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he thatknoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error."1 John 4:1, 5-6.................................................................About the Author:Joyce C.
